Tonight was the night. Peggy and Steve were finally going to have that dance. Peggy was almost sort of, well….surprised when Steve asked her. She thought that he would have moved on after all these years. In her eyes, he was a brilliant soldier, and a perfectly honest, kind man. He was perfect, and she was sure someone else would have felt the same way, and snatched him up. But-she was wrong, and she was happy about it. Peggy looked in her mirror one last time, making sure she looked absolutely perfect before leaving. She brushed off her red dress she was wearing, and re-applied her matching lipstick, before putting on a silver watch and leaving her apartment. She walked outside, and got in a cab to take her to the dance hall where she was going to meet Steve. She got out of the cab, and walked inside slowly. She sat at a table waiting, and thinking about what this was actually going to be like. “What if his feelings have changed?” she thought, “Oh this is going to be bloody awful.” She sighed to herself and looked around. “No no, don’t talk that way, Peggy. Tonight will be simply…divine,” she told herself. She crossed her legs, tapping her foot to the music, and watching all of the couples dance.
Steve paused at the door and checked his watch. 8:00 pm, exactly on time. He straitened his tie one more time before pushing open the doors. Inside there were quite a few couples dancing, but he wasn’t looking at them. It was Peggy he was looking at. Sitting at one of the tables looking absolutely gorgeous in her red dress. She looked exactly the same as she had the last time he’d seen her back in the 40’s and for a moment he could pretend that it was the 40’s, that the plane hadn’t crashed, that he hadn’t missed the first date. Of course he wouldn’t have missed that. Except he did, but right then he didn’t care about that because she was here and he wasn’t about to miss this date. He walked over to their table smiling widely. “Peggy, I’m not late am I?”
Peggy smiled as she heard Steve’s voice, and she looked up at him. She shook her head and stood, “No. Good thing, too. You should never keep a lady waiting.”

I’ts been a month since I’ve been on, I know. I’m so so so sorry. School started up again, and I’m really trying to focus on that right now. I apologize for not being active for such a long time. I’m going to try to do a better job and be on, at least on the weekends. For the posts I never responded to, I’m sorry, and I’ll try to find them and respond as soon as I can. Again, my apologies. It was rude of me not to explain.
